Sip by sip, La Lupa di Roma is a wine lover's haven.
Owner/chef Giorgio Nisti and his son Flavio have assembled South Florida's most comprehensive selection of Italian wines. Over 600 wines are available, including some rarely found in the United States,such as Brunello Soldera or Amarone Romano dal Forno Lodoletta rarely available even in Italy.
Their knowledge and love of wine shows in the wine list, which is several pages long. As Miami Beach's only vineria, La Lupa di Roma boasts over 20 Chianti, 30 Brunello and 20 Pinot Grigio to choose from, among many others.
The list also features select sparkling and dessert wines.
The wine’s vintage is highly important for Giorgio and Flavio.Their selection of Sassicaia Incisa della Rocchetta includes the best and rarest vintage: 1993 1995 1997.
Most of the wines are moderately priced and represent some of best collectible Italian wines available today in the United States. The better bottles are decanted and served in fine glassware that Flavio moves with the ability of a magician.
For those not interested in purchasing an entire bottle, a selection of wines can be ordered by the glass and include the traditional Merlot and Chardonnay as well as less known wine such as the Sicilian Primitivo and the Venetian Soave.
Occasionally, rare Brunello or other world-famous wines are offered by the glass as well.
Every wine presented on the menu, can be also purchased to go.
